An unidentified man has carried out six attacks on synagogues in New York City in two days.
According to law enforcement officials, four synagogues in the Riverdale area were attacked, two of them twice. Unidentified men smashed rocks through the doors of the synagogues. All attacks took place either late at night or early in the morning. According to video surveillance cameras, the same person was behind all the attacks.
Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
Earlier it was reported that the number of domestic terrorism-related incidents had reached a new high in the U.S., mostly at the expense of white supremacy supporters, anti-Muslim and anti-government extremists. Victims of the attacks included a broad cross-section of American society, including blacks, Jews, immigrants, LGBTQ people, Asians and other people of color.
