Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said the U.S. Embassy in Ankara notified Turkey about the cancellation of the passage of two warships through the Bosporus into the Black Sea.

“We continue to monitor the situation in the region very closely. We are aware of reports of ships, but for security reasons we do not discuss these kinds of operational details. We regularly operate in the Black Sea and in many other areas throughout the region,” the Pentagon said.

Earlier, the U.S. announced the passage of its warships through the Bosporus to the Black Sea, where they were to stay from April 14-15 to May 4-5.
