US covered the second wave of coronavirus

Coronavirus in the US is not backing down. Johns Hopkins University said that 2.5 million Americans have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection since the start of the epidemic – nearly one in four pandemic victims in the world. Over the past day, doctors recorded a maximum increase in patients – almost 41 thousand new infected.

The epicenter of the epidemic has moved south and west of the United States. Record rates of infection have been reported in Idaho, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Wyoming, Georgia, California, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, Utah. Florida and Texas last weekend updated the record for incidence. Only in Florida two days in a row reveal 9.5 thousand new cases.

Experts call the cause of a new increase in the incidence rate as the mass protests that broke out after the death of African-American George Floyd, as well as the early removal of restrictive measures and the refusal of citizens to observe safety measures. Local authorities are now considering a return to quarantine restrictions. So, in California, they are ready to re-close the bars in some cities, including Los Angeles, due to an increase in the number of infected people. And in Texas and Florida, food service outlets have already closed. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez did not rule out the imposition of full quarantine with a ban on leaving home.

The northeastern states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have introduced 14-day quarantine for arriving from nine states with severe epidemiological conditions, with only one of them located in the south.

The United States is still the first in the world to distribute COVID-19.
