US fighter crashes off the coast of Great Britain, pilots are looking for

A US Air Force pilot went missing after his fighter crashed into the North Sea off the coast of Great Britain.

According to Evropeiskaya Pravda, information about the accident was confirmed by the command of the base where the aircraft was located.

The American F-15C Eagle fighter, a unit based on the British Royal Air Force near the village of Lakenhit in the city of Suffolk, crashed around 09:40 local time during a training mission.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but the US Air Force confirmed that there was only one pilot on board.

Rescue teams are looking for an aircraft that is believed to have crashed at a distance of 74 nautical miles (137 km) from the coast of East Yorkshire. A military helicopter and several British ships are involved in the search.
