US policeman made joke about strangled George Floyd and got under investigation

A police officer in the United States made a Valentine’s Day February 14 picture of George Floyd, who died after being roughly detained by officers, and a joke about strangulation. The Los Angeles Police Department has already opened an investigation, according to Twitter.

The situation came to light after a complaint from an employee who wrote about it in an internal newsletter. Allegedly, the officer under investigation decided to make a joke and made a valentine with a picture of George Floyd and the caption “You take my breath away.” The officer’s rank and affiliation with the department have not yet been determined.

The Los Angeles Police Department called such behavior unacceptable. Unit heads have been instructed to investigate the officers’ workplaces.

At the end of May, protests for the rights of black people began in the USA under the slogan “Black Lives Matter”. The occasion was a series of high-profile deaths, including the death of African-American George Floyd, who died as a result of a brutal arrest: the man was strangled while being detained by police. Soon the police actions became the cause of mass riots across the country. The protesters claimed unfair treatment of black people.
