US reimposes sanctions against Iran

United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order renewing UN sanctions against Iran and announced new restrictive measures. Also, sanctions will be imposed against countries, companies and individuals who will be involved in the supply of weapons to or from Iran.

This is stated in a statement by Donald Trump.

According to the president, the United States will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons and does not want this country to jeopardize the rest of the world with new supplies of ballistic missiles and conventional weapons.

“To prevent this from happening, I am issuing a new decree reinstating United Nations (UN) sanctions on Iran and imposing new sanctions and export controls on more than two dozen entities and individuals supporting Iran’s nuclear, missile and conventional activities,” – Trump said.

The United States imposes new sanctions and export controls on more than 20 organizations and individuals supporting Iran’s nuclear, missile and conventional weapons.

The new sanctions affect 27 companies and individuals.

We will remind, earlier Trump announced his intention to renew almost all UN sanctions against Iran, which had previously been suspended.

Earlier, the UN Security Council rejected a draft US resolution to extend the arms embargo against Iran, which expires on October 18.

Note that the administration of US President Donald Trump has abandoned the nuclear deal with Iran, which was intended to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, arguing in part that restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities were insufficient.
