US Senate approves ambassadors in Kiev and Minsk

The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee has decided to appoint ambassadors to Ukraine and Belarus. The meeting was broadcast on the committee’s website.

Thus, Deputy Secretary of State Julie Fisher was appointed to replace the American ambassador to Minsk.

In addition, retired General Keith Dayton was appointed US ambassador to Kiev. Prior to that, he was the director of the Center. George Marshall in the German Garmisch.

The full Senate vote on these candidates is now expected. Earlier, the appointment of Fisher and Dayton was proposed by US President Donald Trump.
