US unemployment rate drops to 11%

On July 2, the US Department of Labor released two reports on the state of the economy in the country.

According to a document on unemployment, 4.8 million jobs were created in the United States in June. The abolition of pandemic-related restrictions has enabled entrepreneurs to resume work and increase the number of employees. As a result of this, the unemployment rate fell: in May it was 13.3%, and in the next month it fell to 11, 1%.

Another ministry report provides information on new applications for unemployment benefits. According to him, during the reporting week ended June 27, the United States filed 1.427 million such applications. Thus, there is a slight decrease in their number: a week earlier, 1.48 million applications were submitted.
