When asked whether sanctions could be imposed against India, Wells replied that the relevant US Law on Countering America’s Adversaries through Sanctions (CAATSA) “is a foreign policy priority for Congress.” American lawmakers, she said, are “seriously concerned” that Russia will profit from military supplies.
Wells emphasized that the issue of sanctions was “not lifted,” but she suggested “focusing on the fact that the United States“ uses systems of the highest technological level, ”TASS reports.
India, according to Wells, “will not be able to combine and combine,” will have to “make a strategic choice of technologies and platforms.” Wells said the United States “offers the best technology and platform.”
Recall that the first batch of S-400 Triumph air defense systems will be delivered to India by the end of 2021 in accordance with the schedule.
