USA announces first round of vaccination from 14 December

On Monday, 14 December, the first round of vaccination of citizens against the coronavirus disease COVID-19 will begin in the United States. This was announced by the general in charge of the vaccination campaign, Operation Warp Speed

The general said the first three million doses of the vaccine will be packed into shipping containers and delivered to all states in the country by Monday.

“145 centres across all states are expected to receive the vaccine on Monday, another 425 on Tuesday and the last 66 on Wednesday,” he said, adding that next week’s distribution would be the first phase of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine delivery and would provide vaccination to about 3 million people.

There have been more than 16 million cases of coronavirus in the US, with more than 300,000 deaths. This is the highest number of cases and deaths in the world. More than 200 000 new cases are detected per day and about 3000 people die.
