The first round in the fight against coronavirus has been lost. Australia has stopped the development of its COVID-19 vaccine.
It turned out that after the first injection, some of the test subjects developed HIV. However, it later turned out that the tests were false positive. In spite of this, the authorities decided to stop developing the vaccine. In the future, they plan to refine the drug, but this could take another year.
“The Homeland Security Committee of the Cabinet met this week and made the final decision, which is that the University of Queensland vaccine will not be able to act on scientific advice,” Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison told me.
