Venezuelan President congratulates Biden on victory

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated Joseph Biden on his victory in the US presidential election.

“Congratulations to the American people on the presidential election. I also congratulate President-elect Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their victory, ”the head of state wrote on Twitter.

He noted that Venezuela “will always be ready for dialogue and mutual understanding with the people and the US government.”

The leader of the Venezuelan opposition, Juan Guaido, also congratulated Biden on his victory in the presidential election and expressed hope for support from his opponents of Maduro.

Congratulations to Joseph Biden, Kamala Harris and the American people. Together we will work to restore democracy, freedom, protection of the rights of the people of Venezuela, ”he wrote on Twitter.

General elections were held in the United States on November 3. The vote count continues, but mainstream American media predicts a victory for Democratic candidate Joseph Biden. According to Fox News and the Associated Press, Donald Trump has 214 electors, while Biden has 290 (270 is needed to win).

Biden has already announced his election victory, while Trump has said he will defend his position on the basis of the vote in court.
