Violence in Chicago: 15 people, killed in shootings over the weekend

In Chicago, another brutal weekend was recorded: 15 local residents died in shootings over the weekend, 59 got gunshot wounds, local authorities report.

One of the victims was a one-year-old boy who received a bullet, like his mother, but the woman survived, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The child was injured in the chest on the way out of the laundry, his mother only hit the bullet. City police chief Fred Waller says the child was an accidental victim of violence.

Among the dead there were three more older children, another minor survived after being wounded. All of them suffered from stray bullets. In one of the shootings, two groups of men shot at each other in a residential quarter, no one was arrested.
