The eruption of the Hawaiian volcano Kilauea, which began on December 20, filmed on video. Broadcast cataclysm was held on YouTube authors channel Doing Hawaii.
Local authorities warned residents of nearby settlements not to leave homes – emissions of the volcano could harm their health. The Hawaii Volcano Observatory reported that it recorded an earthquake of magnitude 4.4, as well as a series of weaker tremors.
According to the observatory, scientists have observed more than 30 earthquakes above magnitude 4 in this part of the volcano over the past 20 years. Technically, it is considered to have been erupting continuously since 1983, one of the longest eruptions in the history of observations on Earth.
In 2018, the Kilauea eruption destroyed more than 700 homes, and residents had to evacuate.
