Retailers are already looking for helpers for the holiday season – shifts are scheduled two days after hiring. Walmart is gearing up for a wave of online ordering during the holiday season by hiring more than 20,000 seasonal employees across the country.
The retail giant said Wednesday that new hires will be helping online order centers across America. This year, Black Friday and the pre-Christmas season should be an unprecedented peak in online shopping, but staff must service orders locally.
All seasonal workers will receive a starting hourly rate of between $ 15.75 and $ 23.75, depending on location, job title and schedule.
Earlier this month, UPS and FedEx announced plans to hire tens of thousands of employees to meet the expected growth in holiday shopping deliveries.
