In May, the House of Representatives proposed and passed the HEROES Act to provide Americans with an additional one-time stimulus payment in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The act is still awaiting a Senate vote and requires the president’s signature to be passed into law.
The $ 3 billion HEROES will match the income threshold set in the previous CARES Act, but provide additional benefits for dependents. How much everyone gets depends on income and filing status.
Eligible people will receive $ 1,200, couples $ 2,400, but an additional $ 1,200 will be allocated for each child (up to 3 children). The last amount is 2 times higher than in the previous package.
Also, not everyone will receive support this time – only those who earn less than 75 thousand dollars or 150 thousand for couples.
