Xiaomi has patented a smartphone with a camera embedded in a circle and protruding over the body.
The corresponding patent was found on the website of the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA). According to the description, the smartphone has a circle built into the top end, where the front camera is located. The documentation does not disclose the exact device of the gadget, but journalists believe that the circle with the camera rotates inside the body, turning the side with the lenses towards the user when necessary.
Invented by the engineers of the Chinese company prototype smartphone also has a main camera with three sensors, which are located in a single row on the back of the device. Experts have suggested that the camera may have the same specifications as the Mi 11 Pro – lenses of 50, 13 and 8 megapixels.
Because the front camera is in a rotating unit, the phone’s display has virtually no bezels or notches. Also, the device has a USB-C port, a speaker and a slot for a SIM card. On the body of the device there are buttons to adjust the volume.
Earlier, journalists LetsGoDigital found in the database of the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) a patent for a cylindrical smartphone. The conceptual device combines the functions of a smart speaker and phone, and also has a retractable display.
